What we process

If you search by bib number, we use that number to find event photos. If you search by face, your browser sends the selected image to our server, which sends it to Amazon Rekognition to match faces in that event. The site does not save the uploaded selfie as a file.

For successful face searches, we store a search identifier and the matching photo identifiers so you can view and paginate your results. Event photos and associated bib names are supplied as part of event coverage.

Downloads and service data

When you request a ZIP download, the download service receives the photo URLs needed to assemble it. ZIP files are temporary and are deleted after a short period. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process request metadata such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service.

Sharing and retention

We use Amazon Rekognition for face matching and our hosting, database, and storage providers to operate the site. We do not offer an account or payment checkout on this site. Search result records may remain in the database until removed; temporary ZIP files are scheduled for deletion after five minutes.

Your choices

You can search by bib where available without uploading a selfie. For access, correction, or removal requests about your data or an event photo, contact hello@running.pictures. Include the event link and relevant photo link if possible.
